If you’re arriving from out-of-state, plan to fly into PDX Airport. Car rental is available directly from the airport. If you’re not planning to rent a car or would prefer to carpool with other guests, we will be helping match guests with carpools via the RSVP forms (coming soon!)
Driving from Portland, the easiest route is to take OR-6 to Tillamook, then US-101 to Sandlake Rd. Camp Clark is easy to find via GPS!
The Oregon coast’s rainy season is typically over by June. Average temperatures should be around 70 during the day, and around 50 at night. Oregon temperatures and weather can fluctuate wildly, so we recommend bringing a mix of summer clothes as well as a raincoat and warm layers for night time and the mornings.
The beaches at Camp Clark are choppy and cold and not great for swimming. It’s possible to wade at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City.
Camping is provided for all guests, and we encourage guests to embrace the summer camp vibes and stay onsite with us!
Camp Clark has 7 large camping areas, each with multiple Adirondacks - 2-person wooden structures with metal roofs, canvas doors, and wood platform bunks. Each campsite has a shared picnic table, campfire ring, outhouse, and handwashing station.
If you're planning to stay in an Adirondack, sleeping bags and sleeping pads will be necessary. If you are not able to bring these items, don’t worry! Let us know in the RSVP (coming soon) and we’ll provide these sleeping supplies for you.
Tent camping is also available - Guests may set up tents in any of the camping areas. Additionally, there is a field that we will designate for tent camping.
For vehicle camping, most of the Adirondack pods have parking available. RVs/Campers will need to park in the central parking lot, and hookups are unfortunately not available.
We will be designating different camping areas for various noise-levels. We’ll make sure that campsites are reserved for folks that would prefer an earlier and quieter setting.
The camp shares a single shower house which contains 8 individual shower rooms with mirrors and power outlets. Please plan accordingly when you’re getting ready on Saturday!
The campsites do not have electricity. There are outlets available in the showers and in the dining hall for charging devices during the daytime. There is some cell service at Camp Clark, but we’d recommend embracing the summer camp theme and leaving your phone off! (We are working on arrangements for guests who need electricity for medical devices (such as CPAP machines).
The theme for the ceremony is summer beach cocktail wear. Sam and Anna will be wearing western wear for the ceremony and we encourage you to incorporate that if you’d like!
Although we really encourage you to embrace the summer camp vibe and stay with us for the whole weekend, we understand some guests will prefer to stay off-site. We recommend staying in Pacific City, which is a 20-minute drive from Camp Clark. Pacific City has hotels, a brewery, multiple restaurants and pubs, and a small grocery store.
Here are some hotels we recommend:
Tillamook is also nearby and has hotel options, but it is inland from Camp Clark, is not nearly as scenic as Pacific City, and tends to smell like cows (we love Tillamook cheese!)
Please note that the drive between Camp Clark and Pacific City/Tillamook is on winding mountain roads that are very dark at night. If you plan on drinking on either night, we strongly encourage you to stay onsite.
